I've been using the Bachmann EZ Command DCC Controller for several sound and non-sound locos. I'm able to adjust the volume on a BLI steamer by double clicking the function 8 button to step up or step down the volume. Is this possible on the IMs with SoundTraxx Tsunami sound or is the volume only controlled by a DCC system that can adjust CV values?

The BLI Paragon2 decoders are designed to do that. Their Blueline sound decoders do the same. They are the only ones that do. Triple clicking an MRC decoder will shut it down.
If you live near a hobby shop, you can take the ES44 to them, and ask if they could adjust the sound level for you. CV for sound on a Soundtraxx is 128.

Thanks. It's just a tad quiet for me out of the box. I've also seen the youtube video about switching out to a Railmaster DSM-8 speaker. Does the improved sound quality also increase the volume, at least in perception?
