Default Remote Knob Help?

On my controller (Which is a DT100), on of the knobs that is used to control the speed of a locomotive fell off. It had been loose for about a month now & this is the first time it's ever happened to me.
Does anybody know some tips to getting it back on. I'll get a picture of it if needed.

DT100 from Digitrack?
http://www.digitrax.com/products/ret...rottles/dt100/

The control knobs have two small set screws that tightens against the shaft.
Get an 'Allen' wrench that fits the set screws (hardware store, take the knob with the set screw to ensure you get the correct size). Put the knob back on then tighten both set screws.

Are you have trouble getting the knob back on the shaft or keeping it from falling off?

It's sort of both, but it's mainly trying to keep it on & not falling off. I can put it back on & still use it, but with it's hard due to how it is loose it is.

Wow, I haven't seen or heard of a DT-100 in use for years! I sure hope that it never really needs any repairs done to it. The encoders used in that throttle are no longer made, and I know Digitrax hasn't offered it for sale for over 10 years.

The DT-100 was my first throttle, and my encoders went out after 4 years, and it couldn't be repaired.

You just need to tighten the two set screws in the knob once it is fully seated of the shaft.

Cjcrescent: Actually, DT100's went out of production in September 2005.

waltr: Okay, I'll try that once I find my small Allen Wrench kit.

I just replaced the encoders in mine a few months ago. I got them from Digikey. I have a DT100 and a UT1.

OK 7 years.

I know that right now, after having a DT-400 since they were first released, I doubt if I could use a DT-100 now if my life depended on it.
