Default NCE Powercab Problem

Hi. I've got the following problem. I tried to run my ROCO BR24 with NCE Powercab. But when I placed the loco on the rails it began to flash all lights with a certain rhythm and the powercab itself didn't respond.

Thanks in advance

Silly question but do you have a decoder installed? NCE is not like Digitrax. There is no analog address, so you have to have a decoder installed for the loco to operate.

Does the 'Cab start up without the train on the tracks? It should give a little diagnostic window showing the firmware version first.

According to the specification it is a DC loco with NEM 652 8-pin socket. And it looks like a decoder which is plugged into this socket. So I think it should be DCC compatible.

Thats not a decoder its a board with resistors and diodes for motor and lighting. You unplug the little white board and plug in an 8 pin decoder into that spot. The instructions should tell you how to do this. I am not sure what the little jumper is with the 3 hole socket but check the instructions to see what that does.

Mark is correct. This is the "jumper" that allows the loco to run on DC. I run a lot of steam and have found that unless you want sound, an inexpensive 2 function decoder will work just fine.
