I can not say that in all my years in the hobby that I've ever seen anything like that. Generally, arenas of any real magnitude are far too large (and of too limited interest) to be replicated in a size suitable to most hobbyist's needs.
I recall a thread a while back where a modeler was encouraging manufacturers to produce a low relief version of the 42nd Street facade of New York's Grand Central Terminal. It sounded nice until I pointed out that even with some selective compression it had to be 6'-8' wide in HO to retain anything like its real proportions! Being in the order of 400' wide, IIRC, even a semi-scale version of The Garden would undoubtedly face similar problems of size and scale. NYW&B Last edited by NYW&B; 07-16-2012 at 06:29 PM. |

That would be a little over four and a half feet wide. Kinda large

Yea I guess it would be alittle to large, what I had in in mind was just a small HO building with couple bay doors. Just enough so u could tell it was an arena

It would definitely have to be a background structure or it wouldn't look right.

The arena plus the parking around it would take up about a small bedroom in HO scale.

Not commenting on the size, but a lot of the arena's I've seen, don't have 'too complicated a facade' to replicate. I mean the indoor arenas put up in the 60's or 70's. Smaller 'ice palace you might be able to get away with 2-3 feet on the backdrop.

Scratchbuild it.

If you just to have the "feeling" of an arena on your layout get a picture of one & put it on a backdrop.

I remember somebody on here also once suggested building an HO scale NASCAR track. I think you'll probably have to scratchbuild it or kitbash a couple parts from different structures to make it. It sounds like it'd be pretty cool to see though.
