I recently purchased one each of these LED 'shop lights'. Both are 3000k lumens 'bright white'. They really do put out a LOT of bright light, ....so much so that I am debating about what to do about the ones I intend to mount on the ceiling of my train shed?
1) I believe I can get along with fewer fixtures than I originally envisioned,....I was at first thinking of mounting them end-to-end in a line down the length of either side of the ceiling, but now think I can provide a much bigger spacing between the adjacent ends,...thus fewer fixtures
2) The 4 foot long ones have a outlet plug on one end that allows one fixture to be linked electrically to another. The 3 footers do not, but if I were to chose some of them I'm wondering if I can just run a power wire (ala DCC base wire) down the length of line of 3 foot lights, and tap into it for power for each shop light (parallel wiring)??
Does anyone see any problems with this 'parallel wiring' idea?
3) I'm going to have to take into acct some sort of 'shielding' for those ceiling mounted LED lights as they are in some cases too bright if you look up the slightest bit. One fellows observation was that he had to wear a baseball cap in his train room to avoid some of the 'brightness'. I can understand this having been in some stores looking thru selections of lights while trying to read the price tags posted on them !
