Thread: Bachmann DCC question

  1. #1

    Default Bachmann DCC question

What exactly does the add-on power booster do? I build electronic "things" for a hobby. Can I not build an appropriate voltage/current supply and connect to my Bachmann EZ Command system?

Generally with model railroads a power booster enables the use of larger scale motors and/or running more locomotives at the same time. It also may help with really long track runs. I would guess some brands of DCC may use their own power boosters for varying purposes. Sorry...not sure about Bachmann in particular.

In that movie about baseball they said "If you build it.....they will come!"

Look in the DCC Circuits section of the web site below for some DCC booster circuits. That will at least give you an idea of what is required.
