I purchased an old Branchline Blueprint series Heavyweight. Putting it together, I realized two things-
1. There are no accomodations for lighting. A while back I had purchased some LED passenger car lighting strips from our honest buddy in China. I think all I really need are metal trucks and I can homebuild the rest. Does anyone know what trucks exactly? Do I need resistors for the LEDs?
2. What colors do I paint the interior? I'm doing the Rutland RR, but don't know if each RR had their own colors or whether they came out of the factory the same colors.
Any help in these two areas would be greatly appreciated!
For lighting, you could use just about any 6 wheel metal truck and wheels like Intermountain's, or if you put metal wheel sets into the kit supplied trucks, build a wiper system as shown here, http://www.modelrailroadforums.com/f...ad.php?t=28882
As to the interior color, I would check a reference like "Some Classic Trains", or "More Classic Trains", by Arthur D. Durbin. They are currently OOP, but Amazon has several. They may also be at the library.
Thanks! That's exactly what I had in mind.
