Thread: Turnout control

  1. Default Turnout control

I know there has been alot of talk about this but I am trying to find the best way to do it without wiring and what not. I am trying to figure out what the best thing to use for doing it in a push pull style from the fascia of my layout. I know i have read somewhere that i can use Aircraft control cables but trying to figure out something easier and maybe cheaper!

Here is a link to a site that explains one way to do it. This is what I plan to try on my layout, especially since I am using Atlas code 55 track as well.

I looked at your link Bob and I may try that with the DPDT mini-switches. Interesting way to create a holding mechanism and the electrical switching can power the frog if needed and maybe a signal too if desired.

Go to an auto parts store and try a choke cable. I have the handle hid in the facia they work extremely well, and are pretty bullet proof.

I used a level and cable system from this guy:

The parts are really nice and precision with lots of options to hook them up.

You can see pictures of the control levels and cabling on my build thread.

Choke cables or even push lawnmower throttle cable assemblies, complete with the plastic lever and housing. I have one on my new build, and it works well.

I like the useability of those Waltr for how many switches i have as of right no on my design i would need 27 of them. does anyone know where I might be able to find a video of them being used to get a little more understanding of them?
