I've been playing MSTS for years. I think its fine, but I haven't really tried anything else to compare.
Most computer games don't run on laptops due to the lack of a good graphics card.

I have tried trainz 2010 before. It's a good game but takes a fairly good graphics card to run. What I have noticed is the signals in it don't always work like they should, in real life I mean. One was yellow and the next was green. SHould have been red. other than that the graphics are great! the DCC mode in the game is nice. I would give 8 stars out of 10.
i used to play railroad tycoon but my computers CD drive is busted so i cant play it anymore, but i'm not sure if that qualifies as a simulator
