I guess I will start this weeks WPF:
I really had intentions to take a few photos of the building that is now 'Photography' prior to its renovation. I had purchased it at a train show last spring and got around to its renovation later in the summer.
At the same show I found some HO cardboard building kits. (Fresh Market, Skate Shop, and Theater shown) I was rather reluctant to buy them as they looked a bit 'cheesy' and whatnot. However, I printed some different textures to use on the walls, signs, and etc and am rather pleased with how the little shops turned out.
I have a court house and a normal house to build next with cardboard kits.

Chuck Your buildings look very good.

Michael .... Your layout photo and your Ski Train poster are ecellent reminders of my 2 years in CO in the 1960's. .. Nice!

NYC George.... You have a very neat train room. Nice!

Below is my steel mill.

It is based on the Walthers kits for a steel mill, Some buildings were modified and some structures were added.

GaryCBQ, that is an AWESOME looking steel mill. The details are amazing. That must have taken a long time to build. Well done sir.

I just picked up two Intermountain (Red Caboose) Tropicana cars today. And weathered them. I"m gonna get a bunch more for the Tropicana Juice Train.

Here's the prototype looks I was shooting for.

Garry nice looking steel mill you got going there. You from a steel town? Yes Garry I try to keep the room as neat as the the layout. I plan on making some real looking RR signals etc to display in the room. I'll post the photos when their finished. Maybe having a neat looking room will catch on with other model railroaders. Nice cars Mike I wish I had 20 of them. Nice buildings Chuck I like the Canon Advertising in the window.

Got some new cars/ideas from the Train show in Cleveland today to add to my "winter layout". Seems a motorist has some car trouble on the side of the road...Also had some fun with photoshop to make the scene stand out and to be how I see it in my head..policeedit.jpgstationsky.jpgtowtrucksnow.jpgtrainwinter.jpg

Just some old ones from me from 2008. This is an abandoned Southern Belle baggage car. I should say it was as it's been scrapped since the time these photos were taken. After KCS/L&A dropped passenger service in the late 60's the car was relegated to MoW service. When not in use it was parked behind the old KCS roundhouse (long gone now) in Leesville. A brush fire swept through the area and burned the hoses, cables and diaphrams off and the car was abandoned in place and sat forgotten on an abandoned spur for thirty some-odd years. These photos are some of the last to be taken of it. I'm in some of the photos. My friend David Parks was handling the cameras.

NYC George. Thanks for commenting. Before moving to KY, I did have brief work assignment in a steel mill.

Michael ... Your comment is appreciated very much.
