Wireless Drawbars

My MTH O-Scale 2-Rail 4-6-2 Pacific loco has a Wireless Drawbar.

It makes a neat-looking connection between loco and tender, but still prefer the Cable, Plug, and Link connection.

How about you?

I don't understand how a drawbar can be "wireless". The entire tractive effort of the locomotive is transferred to the tender (and the rest of the train) through the drawbar. I presume they really mean a wireless - wire harness.

The MTH "Wireless" drawbar is actually a printed circuit board containing 6 conductors on a narrow substrate between Loco and Tender.

The old system had a metallic drawbar plus a bundle of wires connected between Loco and Tender with plugs.
