Widths etc.

How wide (and tall for that matter) were the locomotives? I've been looking around and haven't found anything yet. In other words .. if I am kitbashing an N-scale locomotive into HOn30 .. what width do I build the sucker to?

YW. I'm looking at that tank car used as a sanding tower .. and all sorts of ideas are scampering through my head!

To partly answer my own question:

On http://ngdicussion.net .. a question was posted up "Height of D&RGW C and K series locos". In an answer there is a reply .. "I get 13'4" high at the stack for a K-36. Width at the cylinders is about 10'6", the cab is about 9'8" wide.". I had earlier found an Irish narrow gauge where the cars were 9'6" wide. That should be "good nuff" for my purposes.
