It's 1958, and the Mayor of Lake Newt, Alabama has decreed that a "better" more welcoming railroad station must be constructed to demonstrate to the world that Lake Newt is a proper place to visit and live, so construction has begun by the Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia RR to construct such a place. It will be stub ended, with an area for REA and other shipping taking place on a second track, away from the passengers. Pictures soon. The plans are still up in the air. Since the construction of the world's largest Grit farm, the city is now prosperous.
