Walthers Self Propelled Crane - Rigging

I had a Walther's self propelled crane that been gathering dust in its box. I been putting off assembling the model due to the task of rigging the crane's ropes. I now have a spot for the unit on my layout. I may install a N or z scale decoder or remove the motor completely.

Has anyone built one of these models and have any advise about doing the rigging? I may use Easy Line that's used for utility pole wiring for the rigging ropes.
