Piggyback stuff I've always found interesting. Its one train in most cases that is supposed to be a fast train. I've made my TOFC/COFC out of mostly 50' cars, or Impact cars, as they can go around tighter curves better than the 86' flats. I also remember hearing years ago that 86' flats had derailment problems with other than perfect track. Are some of your flatcars 75'? I think Walther's made some 75' flats years ago, designed for shorter trailers. Love to see more of your layout!

Great pics,TOFC is my favorite to model.
Otiscnj most of the problems with the 89' flat cars were the wheels. The plastic wheel sets on the Walthers and Aline I replaced with Jay Bee 33" metal wheels and they trac much better. Some added weight helps too,if using containers add weight inside will help with trailer I used low temp in spots on the underside of the flatcar.

Cam is right replace the wheels and weight and on the old Athearn 84”- 86’ there are tabs that limits the turn that needs to be cut off I found out and put grafite to lube that piece I will do a how to if someone hasn’t already done it here already if you want
