Snow shed plans

I model roughly 1984 between Chicago IL and Vancouver BC. (how's that for vague?)
Just a generic sort of open frame shed so I can watch the choo choo's run through it.
I wonder if Jim Pendley would notice one missing...
Thanx!

Rico, if you want to see the train, you want an avalanche bridge, not a snow shed. A snow shed completely encloses the tracks and are used in areas where the snow gets so deep, sometimes from avalanches, that it can't be effectively plowed. An avalanche bridge is open on the downhill side is placed to divert avalanches from above the tracks and down the hillside, kind of like a ski jump. There are all kinds of avalanche barriers at http://www.fao.org/DOCREP/006/AD075E/AD075e09.htm.

Rico, that an excellent example of an avalanche bridge. The only quibble I would have is that there wouldn't be much if any vegetation growing on the top. These were only erected where avalanches were common occurances and the avalanche chute pretty well scoured the area clean of anything growing.
