That's a REAL SD&AE tunnel. There's a lot of good detail that can't be modeled correctly especially to scale. >)

I think it is a real picture but has been photoshopped such that the contrast is overemphasized to the point of looking unrealistic.

Found that photo and another next to it on Google images of the same tunnel. I would say it might depend on the lighting (position of the sun) at the time of taking the shot.
