I wouldn't say its poor, for a first attempt it came out fairly decent. Your ahead of me, I haven't been brave enough to even attempt it.

It was a lot of fun doing it and I learned a lot along the way. It may have turned out better if I had put dullcote on it first but I didn't have any.

It generally works better with dullcoat after you're done, to seal everything in.

Ok, I also read that it helps in getting paint washes to stick better as well.
