I scratch built the building out of plaster, sticks, and junk mail. The vehicles are modified from old models that are more like toys.

I'm curious about technique, if you don't mind: Do you do a layer of ground cover everywhere, then build on with static grass and all the other scenery bits, or do you do static grass first, then fill in with the ground cover?

First I prime with Kilz primer. Then I paint my base a dirt color. Next I cover everything with at least one layer of dirt. Then I'm ready for grass and other stuff.
 
Dave- The "AMERICAN PICKERS" will be by next week to look thru that barn.Hold out for a good price on those race cars.
That is an excellent scenery idea and I plan to steal it for my own layout. Thanks!
