Need ideas for a Rivarossi drive shaft

I acquired a Rivarossi 2-8-8-2 that had been upgraded with a can motor.

The motor is mounted a little cockeyed, and a flexible drive shaft is needed. There is not enough room for those Delrin connections.
The rubber hose that was in place has worn out. I have tried week eater fuel lines with a 1/16 i.d., but it is a millionth of an inch too large.

Does anyone have an idea for a replacement?

I think heat shrink tubing would not be durable enough but have not tried it. Surgical tubing does not seem to be made in that small of a diameter.

How about automotive windshield wiper hose? It comes in several sizes.

Check at a hobby shop that caters to model airplanes and maybe a fuel line from a model airplane gas engine would work for you...?

Walther's once sold flexible drives for some of their earlier diesel locomotives.

Yes, Model Airplane fuel lines come in all sorts of small sizes and materials.

I've had good success using vinyl fuel line hose for r/c planes.
