The Lodestar in itself sounds interesting. I asked a WWII pilot why there were 1/3 as many C-46s as C-47s. Apparently, the 46 is more difficult to fly, despite being more capable.

A puddle jumper like the C-46 ;) would make a great "RV" aircraft!

Remember, Guys, that 2 rail O-Scale captured my fantasy! That's only 20 x 40 in HO!

Curtis built some big airplanes back then - the Helldiver and the C-46!
The Loadstar was a beautiful flying plane!
