Hi. My Mother-in Law lived near to March in Cambridgeshire where White Moors was and we used to go near it regularly.
Sadly all has now gone and only a Prison is there now !
I have a 1930's book which explains the workings of the retarders in the yard which were of two types, the one shown which was mechanical and another which was "Eddy Current" operated and was state of the art in those day
