Homemade Fire Hoses?

While these are not fire hoses, here are a couple of pictures of garden hoses using stiff copper telephone wire. To get this thickness, I stripped the plastic off the wire first.

I didn't finely detail either one because they are viewed from 40". If closer, I would have made some resemblance of faucets.

For hoses, I use the insulated solid copper wire that I strip out of the stiff telephone cables - old school tech, you know the stuff before wireless that's still used in landlines. It can be formed into any shape and holds that shape well. For fire hoses, I might use a concrete or buff colored paint.

I appreciate all the comments that you guys made. Forgot to post a photo of the hoses I made. I used solder - would have to look at the roll to see what size it was, but rather thin solder - pounded it with a hammer, opened up the two ends just a bit (to look like couplings), painted it a light brown, but not really satisfied with that color - will repaint someday.Firehouse 2.jpg
