Control Panel and Signals

Well I haven't been on the forum much lately, because I've been workin' on my layout. I finished a contol panel and capacitor discharge system for the three switches on my new passing siding at Cruzatte. The control panel is shown in the first photo. LEDs show the dierection of the switches.

The other photo shows what my signals look like now. Temporary until I buy signals. I built circuits that drive these signals that use photo detectors to detect train locations and also latching relays to detect which way the switch is thrown. Works completely prototypical. If the switch at the exit of the passing siding is thrown the wrong way, you will get a red/red indication. You will also get a red/red if there is a train on the block just beyond the signal.

The signals will be Oregon Short Line model 127 (2 single apsect signals) for the entrance to the siding. I will use NJ Internaltional cantilever bridge signals for the exit from the sidings. Just like the prototype.
