Bad, bad wreck by Amtrak in Oregon

At least 6 killed when an Amtrak train derailed crossing a highway overpass on a sharp curve. Eleven cars and two engines derailed! Fox News showing the scene. A bad mess! First trip of this train with passengers along this route! Check with the news media until we get more information.

The news is now reporting that 3 were killed, hundreds injured. The wreck was in Washington State south of Seattle and just north of Olympia. Reports are saying that the train was doing 80 mph when it came to a curve that called for a speed limit of 30 mph.

And to make matters worse the PTC system isn't supposed to go online until sometime next spring. I can't help but wonder what the point of doing the move to the new route earlier really is when it just saves 10 minutes per trip.
