I meant to post this a while ago. I have noticed that some of my track work is not perfect but other locos seem to run alright on it.

Mmmm definitely a power problem, have you checked and cleaned the connectors between the sections of track ?

Not certain it's the motor mounts tho, but certainly worth trying.

I meant to post this a while ago. I have noticed that some of my track work is not perfect but other locos seem to run alright on it.

The surging seems to take place when the locomotive is on a curve or coming out of it, which is when the trucks are pivoting. I would still recommend soldering wires from the truck pickup to the contact strip atop the motor. That is a simple thing, and only if that doesn't solve the problem would you need to go to other things.

Following this thread because I have a few locos that aren't running at all, and some that are running intermittently. The good thing is that several others are running like new.
