anyone build a drop leaf section?

I've pretty much finished my current layout and am thinking about starting over. i want to incorporate some type of continuous loop in the new design. Space is restricted because I share my office with my wife.

I currently have a length of 12' that is broken down into 3 sections. 1'x3', 2'x6', and 3'x3'

I can probably add a 3'-3.5' deep x 6'-9' long drop leaf, for the loop . I can remove 1', in width, of the last section make it a 2'x9' if needed.

Any ideas on leaf design, weight support, track/electrical connections, etc. Not even sure at this point if the loop is possible.

Well, I have finished most of the foam on the layout . The next step is to bridge the 30" aisle to get in the layout. The space that I do have, reverse loops, etc are a waste of space. And based on where I model (favorite scenes from the SP in CA and Oregon), not really practical from a scenery...
