A new beginning...JRs UPRR.

So this is the general layout. Again think simple and temporary. I just want to do some basic stuff and run trains for now and experiment with a few ideas.
EDIT* Minimum radius is 22 inches.

The long leg on the right of the plan is 16 feet. The top where the window is 10 feet. The left leg where the entry door is where you enter the room is 9.5 feet. Then I just connected at an angle. I will create a small connection for the wye in the center. Simple small.... this will be run on my Digitrax system.

Slow and steady it goes. All I need to do is keep it level and straight. Not perfect but it's temporary but it's still good work. It will be sturdy as well. Progress will continue.....

EDIT : If you will notice I am using a laser. That darn thing is worth it's weight in gold. I am always double checking height and level or rather plumb lines. Keeps me on it. Gotta love how it works.

As long as the floor is level hehehe. I have the same type James, they do make it easier. I did the chair rail in the living.dining room with it, came out perfect.

It's funny you say that. This laser has a self leveling system with an internal plumb/pendulum so the key here is to pick a point/spot in the room and do not move it for the duration of the work. My floor I discovered (which is the 2nd floor level of the house) is off about 1/4 to 1/2 inch various spots. Not bad since the house was built in 1974.

I took a pause on the modular layout. Built some shelves in the small bifold closet. I decided to start opening some of my storage boxes and it was like Christmas morning lol. I opened thus far 4 boxes have dozens more to go. It's was a nice change of pace for the time being. Will build the next leg of layout this weekend. Here some are quick pics.

James, it's always fun opening boxes, finding something you forgot you even have. ;)

Ya it's crazy going through some of this stuff. I am like oh man I forgot this or that. Then I am like oh I have 6 of those? Holy cow lol It's all good and it's a real shot of adrenaline getting back into this hobby that I was so passionate about and now reviving it again! So tonight I will continue with opening boxes. Do some sorting and organizing. Tomorrow (Saturday) I will start on the next leg of the modular. Ya'll have a good weekend.

My biggest room was 30 x 70 way too big with no help
Yeah, I discovered that the hard way AFTER I had purchased the building. Mine is 90 x 45 and I am "Lost in Space". On the other hand since this is a Union Pacific thread perhaps I could just run a strip of double track through it and put dry high plains scenery and antelope all around it, and then call it Wyoming.

Now I am seeing some pictures of passenger equipment. Is there a 4-8-4 in there somewhere to pull them?
