Altoona, PA

I would like to go up to Altoona, PA this next week but times past, I have seen very little rail traffic up there.
I have sat at the Horse Shoe Curve for 8 hours and seen only one set up helpers going west.
Other times, I have spent hours west of the curve and only saw one intermodal train.
Is that rail system really active anymore? I've seen the YouTube videos of the Altoona yard which seems to be kinda of busy.
What day of the week is best for watching rail traffic?

Last time I was in that area, Monday-Wednesday were the busiest. I went there on Thursday, and I could have taken a nap on any of the three lines without fear of getting run over.
