Not that I have a layout up, but is there a September topic?

Any suggestions? :)

Have you done water scenes? creeks, rivers, ponds, lakes, ocean
or bridges?
Rock formations?
Mountains?
Industrial sites?
Mines?
Engine service facilities?
Towns?

Sorry, G-man, missed your question.

How about torn-up layouts?

It's not getting a lot of votes, but I thought I should mention that I also liked the Black Widdow. It was really close, and in the end Cradell's photo compostion tipped the scale. But that is one fine looking engine.

No problem, we've got it covered. Rex, thanks for the suggestions.

As for last month, that was a great turnout. May the best loco win...:D

I know this month was on your favorite loco, but how about in the next couple months everyone's favorite multi-unit train. Just a thought.

RECOUNT! RECOUNT! :D Just kidding!:D
Crandell's photo is excellent, with or without the smoke. In fact, I would have voted for it (if I didn't need my own vote to make a show.). :o :D

So many great entries this month! As much as I like my own photo, this month I have to give Crandell my vote. That is really awesome! So Crandell, we know that the smoke was photoshoped, as was mine, but how did you get it to come So good?

Well could it be he cloned it from a similar (direction) looking photo onto his picture ;) from a real train :) ????!!!!????

I made this on the quick, so I did not pay much attention to details, but with some careful editing you can get it unrecognisable like Crandell did :) ( maybe )

Ray, RRCanuck on the other forum has offered to doctor my images that way since about April of this year. He uses Photoshop. You may recall seeing a greyhound Challenger with smoke...he did that as well. Basically, because my layout is a hollow rectangle, many images show bare wood facing the operating pit. So, he adds ground foam cover and stuff using the software to make the terrain appear continuous. On a few images, he has had to teach himself how to do the smoke. All I did was ask him for "more" until he got what you see in the image entered this month.

Nice guy...just spend 5 months by himself in China on contract...home this very weekend if I am not mistaken. I offered to shop work out to him, plus we email, to help keep him grounded.

BTW, I am sincerely flattered with the way you nice folks have responded to my image. Makes for a nice year of MRR. :)
