Our brand new product reviews section is now online.

http://www.modelrailroadforums.com/reviewpost/index.php

We've got some reviews posted already, so you can see how things are supposed to work. I encourage folks to add their own products and reviews.

Check it out and hopefully it will become a useful resource.

I've added a tools category, and I've added a "misc." topic for items that don't fit elsewhere. It's easy to add new categories, so if we need more I'll create them. I intentionally started with just a few to avoid having a bunch of empty ones.

We can use some new reviews for the product review section folks. As you're getting your model railroad ready for the holidays, or if you get something new from Santa, don't forget to post something in the reviews section for other members. If we all post a few items, it can become a really good resource.

That brings up another comment. The product doesn't have to be one you just purchased. Anything that's in your collection is fair game, though it would be better if it's something that's still in production.

So you can also review some of the cars and engines that have been in your collection for a while.

Will be getting to that also, but the most I have right now, I can't even remember the manufacturers, I'm awaiting buying stuff, and my dad to ship me more trains.

Guess I must be kind of dumb.I was going to do a review of my new ATLAS N scale U23Bs but couldn't figure how to do it.

Care to drop a hint or two?

First you add the product to the system, then open the product and click "review this product"

Oh come on, its not that hard, all you have to do is list the product, if you're not up to listing a product Bob will for you, just tell him what you got. Then when the product is in the system, you click "post a review" and then review it. I just added the Pegasus Hobbies palm tree's I bought, took me all of 20 mins.

Hi Johnathan,

If you want to add a new product review you must go to the products review section and click Login at the upper right. Your login is the same as it is here. After you login, click Upload Products in the upper right. Now you can put in what the product is, a description and any pictures of the product. When done submit this and it will now appear in the reviews section. Now you can select it and add a review for that product.

Hope that helps.

Oh come on, its not that hard....

It is if you've overlooked something, or it's not working right, or you can't figure out how to get started. What can seem totally obvious to you can seem totally confusing to somebody else.

Obviously he's having problems, or he'd not have asked how it works. So, said kindly, let's help him figure out what's wrong, rather than simply saying "it's easy!".

In this case I suspect he's not logged in yet, as somebody else mentioned. If he isn't, then none of the options will be available.

Catt, please try logging in, then let us know if that solves the problem. If not, tell us what you're seeing and whether it lets you log in.

I posted a tool and then realized that I left something out--the price. I wanted to go back and edit it and found I couldn't.

I'm not sure what you're asking?

There's a link to the product review section in the menu bar above, and on the main page. There's also a link to it as one of the forums.

Is that what you were asking about?

Sorry, we're not that kind of website. But I'm sure a quick Google search will turn up plenty that are...
