Well it made it home in one piece! after a 500mile airplane trip in my duffle bag, in a box surrounded by bubble rap and other kits.
As this is my first attempt weathering with chalk be gentle. Realizing I might have been a bit too heavy with the chalk. I'm still debating whether to put decals on it. The lighting is in place but I have yet to hook it up.

Very convincing Ferg! Did you spray a protective layer of dullcote over it?

Looks just right to me and very real looking. Personally, I would rather use
chalks that anything else. I am not as experienced as others, but unless I am going to be touching a model I don't coat the chalk with anything. Glad it made the trip and didn't end up in the bone yard.

Fergie- Nice job!
Let it sit on the layout a few weeks and a layer of dust will weather it some more!:D :D

Well Done!!! The weathering is subtle and looks like the tower has been in "service". A little collection of dust is not necessary, she looks like she has been there for a while.

That coaling tower is a MESS! Sorry fergie, I just couldn't help myself. Fine job of weathering, it looks right at home on the layout. Glad it made back home without a misshap....;)
