View Full Version : Automatic Signal System help
I can't find an automatic signal system that doesn't use a computer. I don't care about cost, but I don't need it right now. I'd likeat least red, yellow and green. It can be flashing, but it doesn't matter. It's for an HO railroad.
Thanks

I believe the Circuitron boards will do what you want without the PC.
Do they connect together or something in order to do it right?

They're all hard wired together to "talk" to one another. They will give you all three aspects and work without a PC interface.
You might also want to check this thread out, if you haven't already.

Ah. That I had seen, but it didn't exactly make sense. So, you'd basically be building your own signaling computer? I understand it now, but what do they make for turnouts? Does it do anything with the signaling system?

Basically, with the Circuitron system, block occupancy detection is accomplished with photo optical sensors. The logic and signal drivers are provided by the Circuitron boards.
Is there a limit to how many you can connect together?

I doubt there's any limit on the number of boards allowed (except maybe the old checkbook:D). Give Circuitron a call though as I'm not 100% sure.
What all will the system do? Got any more info? I need it to be able to stay activated even if a train falls between the sensors.
