Jeff

I was upgrading the web album with new software this morning. It is up and running again. Usually Saturday morning has very little traffic so I thought I could sneak the upgrade in  :D .

Rex,

They are working at 3:23 EDT on October 5. Sometimes there are server problems at the providers end. Part of having a website

Harold,

That area of CA was SP, right? Or was there ATSF as well?

Were they growing garlic back then?

It was Central Pacific in the 1870's, later SP. There were a few lesser railroad pictured in Abdill's "Pacific Slope Railroads". The Pacific Coast Air Line is an "air line" of prosperity to stop the suffocation by the Central Pacific.

The garlic I don't know about.
