Just worndering if any of you guys own one of these and what your thoughts are on it? My LHS has one in and at a good price so I put a deposit on it.

I have the non-"R" version and am quite pleased with it.

And I would be happy with the non "R" version myself, its just that I can get this system for about the same price as the Non Radio version so I thought what the heck. Other than it being wireless I don’t really see much difference between the two. I downloaded the manual and it appears to be the same for both versions of the unit.

Did you go with an NCE power supply or some other brand?

I would love to know if anyone who has the wireless version has ever had any interference with the signal? I guess if it was a major problem you could also tether it. I just like the expandability factor of the NCE system (not that there is anything wrong with the Digitrax systems out there either).

Our club uses it and we have no trouble with reliability or signal strength.

It's a great system, you should be happy with it. I have the wireless but don't use it much, because there seems to be a short delay when you press the buttons, but when it's tethered the buttons respond instantly.

Bought my 1st NCE PHP (wired) in 1998 (OMG that was when??:eek:) and waited til last year to go wireless. Interference has never been an issue either at home or with a club module deployment. We've run 60x100 modular displays in metal buildings before with no ill effects. I can stand in my garage (40 ft from the house) and blow whistles on train running in the basement. I've also been known to hide behind a column in an exhibition hall and steal a train from a club member who became too buzy yapping with a member of the public. :eek: Yes, I'm sick, but I take great pleasure in making a train reverse when the "driver" tries to demonstrate a different function. Or I'll turn light functions on and off at will, basicly infuriating the engineer until I finally get caught!:o
Yes there is a slight delay compared to a wired throttle, but it is an easy adjustment for me as an operator.....:D
