The garden is spread over about 800 square feet of space in the Islands Pavilion Commons, near the zoo's main entrance. The remote-controlled electric trains include a 1890s-model steam engine and a 1950s diesel engine, reminiscent of locomotives that operated in Indonesia.

PS - Indonesia!?! Uh, I'm not sure where he got that idea...
Looks like an SW lettered for the New Haven to me. I can't see the steamer in the one photo, but the coaches lead me to suspect it's a probably Bachmann 4-6-0...

Must have been the Bamboo structures, bad weed or something, after reading the article I had to log on to the zoo to re affirm it was Louisville Ky.
Cheers Willis :D

"Most kids go through a train stage," Zoeller said, "but a lot of fathers and grandfathers should really enjoy the garden, too." Hmmmmph.
What fun. :) Ten grand to design the layout, huh? Mine should be worth a new hat, at least. :D
