Am I missing something here??????

Hello all!
I wanted to enter the workbench photo contest and followed the directions.
The trouble came when I tried to find the "photo upload" link.
I clicked on the one in the upper right hand corner that said Modelrailroadforums members may upload photos.
After clicking on it, I was taken back to the home page.
I'm kinda new at this and was wondering if I'm missing something obvious??? :confused:

I can see how that line can be confusing. The link in the instructions refer to the one circled below. If you don't see that link, it can be because you're not logged in.

Please let us know if you still have problems.

Mike, it still wound up in the wrong place for the contest. I moved it over to the correct area.

Maybe the agent at the station was right when he said the trains on the layout would run smoother if I just stayed out of the train room!! :rolleyes:

You know, this is a pet peeve of mine. Why can't there be just a big button that says "Upload Pictures Here", prominently displayed somewhere on the page? It'll either take you to the upload page, or tell you that you're not logged in.

I'm looking at the thread page now, and I see nothing to allow me to upload a pic somewhere other than within this thread. I can log out easier than to put a pic into the gallery.

Go to the May Model Railroad Contest Section of the Photo Gallery at the link below.

The "May contest gallery" is a hot link directly to the correct gallery in the photo section, or at least it's supposed to be. It works for me but if it doesn't for anybody else, please let me know.

Not necessarily. My rant was just a generic rant on not being able to post to any gallery from wherever on the site. So, if I'm reading a post about something, which reminded me to post a pic in the gallery, there's no button on the page that says Post Pic to Gallery.

Maybe I'm missing something. But, I remember some time ago, I was thinking about postig some pics, and I decided that there was no real easy way to do it. The only result I got was going around in circles, so I gave up.

Ahh, OK. The closest to that would be the link in the blue bar at the top of every page to the gallery.

The trouble is that the forums and the gallery are two different software packages that kinda talk to each other, but not really. They share the member database, but that's about it. Maybe Bob has some ideas.
