Hey guys,
OK, question for you.
I am painting a KATO SD70MAC in custom roadname colors, and I have been looking through the Microscale catalog (both online and in my hobby shop) exhaustively trying to find decals for the following:
1. The warning emblems, electrical compartment labels, and all of that other technical mumbo jumbo that is to be found on any unit. What's interesting is that the decal sets for existing roadnames, such as the decal set for a Southern Pacific SD70M, only has the railroad logos, speed lettering and very little else. None of that technical data and fine print applied to various parts of the locomotive.
I DID find that information on the decal sheet for a CN SD70I... why does Microscale provide this information on the CN SD70I set when it leaves it absent on virtually all of the other roadnames?
2. Looking for a decal sheet that can provide me a black anti-glare panel for the top of the nose of a SD70MAC. Yes, I suppose I could paint it, but I'm too lazy and I feel a printed decal for this would be more precise and easier to apply. I am willing to buy a decal sheet for a road I don't model just so I can get this anti-glare panel.
(I already have a CN SD70I sheet for the technical data, what's one more road I don't model?)
Can anyone provide any insight into these questions and why Microscale seems to leave so much vital information off of decal sheets?
