Rail cutting adventures

Here's a few pictures taken when we were cutting cast off CWR (ribbon rail) for the CNR in Northern Ontario.

  7. CN Hytracker, this is a drop down trailer that hauls equipment down the track under its own power once the tractor is dettached!

  10. Pump spots, this caused by the weight of the train pushing down on the roadbed and pressing out mud every time a wheel goes over it.
  11. Expansion rail just off of a bridge is designed to allow for shifting rails in temp extremes.

She comes out when a highrail crew goes by looking for sandwiches for her kits but stays away from the trains.
